Rehabs for Addiction Treatment

Addiction rehabs are located all over the country. These facilities share the common goal of providing assistance to patients who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. On the outside, most addiction rehab centers may appear to be identical. The same cannot often be said for patients. However, rehabs and the patients that rely on these facilities is not “one size fits all.”

If you are or a loved one is interested in entering rehab for drug or alcohol abuse, it is important to consider all options while attempting to match the problems with the best type of treatment.

When comparing and selecting an addiction rehab, consider the following details listed below.

Accreditation and Reputation

There are two organizations that accredit addiction rehabs: Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Joint Commission on Accredited Health Organizations. Certification by one of these organizations is a must and usually shows that the facility has a good reputation and is being held to high standards.

Type of Therapy

As noted above, no two patients are the same. Before you choose one addiction rehab over another, speak with a counselor about the type of therapies that are used. In short, the therapy should match the type of addiction and have been proven successful with past patients.

Inpatient or Outpatient

There are two types of addiction rehab programs: inpatient and outpatient. Inpatient is also known as “residential rehab” in which you live at the facility and receive care around the clock. For those with less serious addictions and personal responsibilities, an outpatient program may be best. This allows the patient to receive treatment during the day and return home at night.

Insurance Coverage

Does insurance cover the rehab process? If so, did you choose a facility that accepts your type of insurance? If insurance is not a possibility, speak with several addiction centers about patient aid that may be available. In many cases, you may be able to receive free money to ensure that you can receive the proper level of treatment.

Although you may be able to find several addiction rehabs close to home, this is not always the best option. Some people prefer a local rehab center because it allows them to receive the support of their family and friends. Others, though, prefer to be away from home as to avoid the atmosphere and local influences that have caused them trouble in the past.

If you or somebody you love needs help, contact several addiction rehabs as soon as possible.
