California Rehab Centers
California is know for its residents and their carefree life styles, their hospitality to any visitors and the states natural beauties within. California is home to a lot of major celebrities making it a hot spot for tourists looking to catch a glimpse of the rich and famous that fill their TV screens. California is one of the most expensive states in the United states with homes costing in the millions, making it hard for the average man or woman to survive.
In this rich and famous state lies a dark side, drug and alcohol abuse. While many party and have a good time drinking in moderation, others take things to far and binge drink and begin using drugs. Many of those taking things to far are still in control, able to quit at any time but how long can that really last? Eventually the drugs and alcohol take over and the body develops a dependency and stopping its use is filled with painful withdrawal symptoms and strong cravings for more.
In the state of California there have been thousands seeking out treatment for drug and alcohol abuse or addictions. The have chemical dependencies that they are unable to ‘kick’ on their own. To California residents it is surprising just how many of their friends, family and neighbors are seeking out treatment. According to TEDs there were 179,466 California residents, ages 12 and above, admitted to treatment facilities for substance abuse or addiction. There were 49,135 residents treated for Methamphetamine addiction, the highest abuse substance in the state. So many Californians are suffering from this drugs aftermath, there have been devastating effects on the lives of those using as well as the lives of those closest to them. The high abuse and addiction levels of Meth not only effects those using and their friends and family though, the economy of the state is effected having to invest thousands of tax payers dollars into the clean up of the meth labs and dump sites as well as the incarceration of those arrested for its sales and use. The effects of Methamphetamine are hurting the Californian society as a whole.
