About Amicus House

Amicus House is a sober living facility in San Jose, California. This facility offers a work-release program and sober living for adults recovering from substance use disorders.

The transitional living environment provides a safe and structured home for people who are early in sobriety or who just finished residential drug rehab treatment. Residents participate in 12 Step meetings, sponsorship, house chores, and daily check-ins with staff, and they attend work or school. After six months as a resident, individuals receive a graduation certificate. The work release program is an alternative to the closure of the County Work Furlough. Individuals are allowed to leave the facility for a maximum of 10 hours per day, five days per week for verifiable employment or education.

The cost of staying in the sober living program is $700 monthly for a shared room or $1400 monthly for a private room. If residents are referred to additional services through mental health or addiction recovery programs, these treatments may be covered by insurance from providers such as Beacon, Anthem, Humana, Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Verify coverage and out of network benefits directly with your provider as these vary from plan to plan.
